This was my first visit to this salon. Tam was very quick and not extremely thorough, but my nails are ok. I had an issue win Kim being rude to my 84 year old mother with Alzheimer’s. I tried to call her over to explain this but she was very short with me. Since I finished 1st, I went over to my mom’s station to be with her. I noticed that she was very rough and not friendly at all with my mom. Then, unfortunately the color of dip she selected was off and I explained to Kim my concerns, but she just brushed me off and said she likes the color. I then asked her to look at the difference of the color of my mom‘s nails and the color in the book and she said your mom likes it. I asked her to put a topcoat of color on my mom‘s nails because the color was nothing like we selected and explained that we only get her nails done every five weeks so she would not be happy with peach nails for five weeks. She gave me a horrible look and then repeated, “well, your mom likes the color”. I then went up to the front desk and asked them to get someone else to finish up my mom‘s nails. I was visibly shaken and upset by how she treated my mother. The girl at the front desk asked Kim to go do someone else’s nails and for us to wait for someone to finish my mom up. At this point, Kim came back to her station and offered to put a top coat of color over my mom‘s nails, which is what I had asked for in the first place. I explained to her that my mother had Alzheimer’s disease and would not ever say that she didn’t like the color because she gets very confused. She then changed her tune and started treating my mother with kindness. All in all we left with a decent color and we were satisfied enough to leave. I did pay for the services and I did tip both of them; however, I just want to bring this to your attention. Maybe a little kindness training for Kim is in order. She seemed irritated from the beginning because she wanted to put acrylic on my mom‘s nails and I said no please do dip. I think it all went downhill from that point. I will say that after confronting her for being so rude she did change the way she was treating my mom so I appreciated that. I understand Saturdays are very busy, but when you have a visibly elderly person who is confused at your station, it only takes common human courtesy and decency. Paying $100.00 for a dip manicure and a gel manicure is expensive and while I did not expect the red carpet to be rolled out for us, but I did expect a technician to treat my mom with respect.
